AHW is awarded Telair VMI contract.

Aircraft Hardware West is proud to announce that it has entered into a four year agreement to supply and manage hardware for Telair International. Telair, a division of Teleflex, builds mechanical cargo systems that help automate the loading and storage of cargo on a variety of aircrafts. Telair operates around the world with offices in the US, Europe, and Asia. This agreement includes a vendor managed inventory (VMI) program for all hardware used by Telair in addition to a tool maintenance program to support production lines. Aircraft Hardware West specializes in inventory management allowing Telair to focus on what they do best; manufacturing air cargo containers and systems for major freight and commercial airlines including UPS, FedEx, KLM, and American. Krista Ioffrida, Operations Manager of Aircraft Hardware West, says, “The partnership we share with Telair is built on trust, reliability, and service. Our goal is to grow as strategic business partners in order to enhance productivity and customer service for Telair.” The VMI program Aircraft Hardware West has implemented at Telair’s facility is tailored around accurately stocking material for manufacturing and ease of use for shop personnel. Using bin shelving units, Aircraft Hardware West has created an organized stocking environment that is closely monitored and maintained to maximum efficiency. Krista Ioffrida says, “We are excited to see such positive responses from manufacturing personnel at Telair. My staff and I enjoy working closely with Telair and take pride in providing friendly and valuably service to all who work for them. It’s another way we can show our appreciation for important customers such as Telair.”

AHW further expands offerings with major new partnerships.
Recent agreements with three leading companies will allow Aircraft Hardware West to provide its customers with an even wider range of quality parts and services for the airline and related industries.

In a continuing effort to effectively and efficiently supply the very highest quality products, AHW has successfully completed three new partnerships in the first half of 2005. In February AHW was awarded a four-year contract with Airbase Services. A respected leader in container manufacturer and repair stations, Airbase Services is a key vendor to major airlines around the world.

AHW has also developed additional business with Telair International, a major player in the cargo container industry. Working closer with Telair offers AHW greater buying power and improved selection of cargo container parts and tools for their customers.

In July 2005, AHW also received access into purchasing SPS Technologies parts, further increasing their ability to fully support airlines and commercial users. All three developments will allow AHW to provide an even higher level of selection, service, and quality to its customers. “These are major business accomplishments for us,” says AHW CEO and President Frank Ioffrida. “Each one is just a part of our ongoing effort to provide our customers with a highly-trusted, single-source partner for all their needs.”

AHW receives ISO 9001:2000 certification.
Aircraft Hardware West's quality systems have been certified by QMI, in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 standards. “This provides our customers with even more assurance of quality,” said Frank Ioffrida, CEO and President of AHW.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) created ISO 9001:2000 to provide organizations with standards for quality that are recognized and respected throughout the world. Using a third party for inspection and registration, ISO 9001:2000 consists of a broad-reaching set of requirements for an organization’s Quality Management System (QMS). Certification assures customers that the company they are purchasing from provides goods and services that meet the needs and expectations of customers and comply with all applicable regulations.
The requirements for ISO 9000:2001 certification cover a wide range of topics, including managerial commitment to quality, customer focus, employee competence, quality planning, and many more. All the way down to the accurate calibration of measuring equipment.

Says Mr. Ioffrida, “ISO 9001:2000 is really the industry standard for quality assurance in aircraft hardware. Obviously, in our business, nobody can afford to make any compromises on quality. This is just one more way for us to provide our customers with a reliable resource.”
